As for wood antiques,most wood materials come from indonesia,because we are the biggest timber plantation.Even you buy wooden antiques from china,europe,States and others,they import old wood materials from Indonesia.Kalimantan is the largest location for wood plantation.Therefore the government now issues new regulations for timber’s illegal pickers with jail-sentence or hundreds millions of rupiah fine.Now woods can only be exported in processed form.During Indonesia home industry exhibition,all outside business people visit Indonesia,and they only give the design with the type of woods they want to local artists and business-men,or be a sponsor by investing money in local company.Indonesia Local artists have been recognised by international standard.
A lot of Europeans are not very familiar with Indonesia,BALI is much more famous.We have the only raja bed,most of them are in our National Museum.Some are still beeing restored.

Provenance:
Mr. Elgerma, a Belgium, came to Indonesia in 1917. He was a landlord. His daughter, Connie Elgerma, married to my grandfather in 1945. Elgerma gave my grandfather several paintings as wedding gift. One of these was the work of van Gogh. Once, before Elgerma died in 1952, he told that van Gogh was one his relatives in Nuenen, Holland. He was ten years younger than van Gogh.
Van Gogh gave one of his works to Elgerma in 1885 in Nuenen. Elgerma had kept the painting well and gave it to my grand father in 1945.
Measurement: 29 cm x 34.5 cm include frame.
